Hornets' rising star Knupper suffers hamstring injury and is expected to miss the entire preseason.

September 26 - According to ESPN, the Charlotte Hornets announced on Friday that their rising star, Connor Knupper , will miss at least the entire preseason due to a left hamstring injury.

Knupper suffered the injury during offseason practice. Last season, as a rookie, he made 273 three-pointers, becoming the first rookie in NBA history to lead the league in three-pointers made in a single season. Knupper averaged 18.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in his rookie season , shooting 42.5% from three-point range .

In addition to Knupper, Hornets veteran forward Grant Williams also suffered a right hamstring injury. The team has confirmed that both players will miss all four of the Hornets' preseason games and plans to reassess their injuries in the first week of the regular season.

The Hornets will begin their new season on October 21st with an away game against the Brooklyn Nets. After trading LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer , the Hornets hope to further rely on Knutpel this season.
