September 17 - According to ESPN , the Phoenix Suns have reached a signing agreement with free agent center Dupe Reese .
The 30- year-old Reese played three seasons in the NBA , all with the Portland Trail Blazers. In February of this year , he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks, where he was subsequently waived.
The Trail Blazers signed Reese as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and converted him into a standard NBA contract midway through his rookie season. Reese had a strong rookie season, averaging 9.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, but his playing time decreased in the following two seasons.
The Suns signed Reece primarily to bolster their center rotation depth. Center Mark Williams recently underwent shoulder surgery and is expected to miss several months. The Suns' frontcourt already includes Kaman Maruarch , the 10th overall pick in last year's NBA draft .
