The Lakers will hire Heat executive Eric Amsler as assistant general manager.

September 10th - According to ESPN , the Los Angeles Lakers will hire Eric Amsler , a senior executive of the Miami Heat , as assistant general manager.

Amsler previously served as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Miami Heat and also as General Manager of the Heat's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He has worked in the Heat's basketball operations for over 20 years, joining the team as an intern in the 2004-05 season. He subsequently rose through the ranks to management positions in scouting, player personnel, and the G League.

Lakers President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka hired two assistant general managers during the offseason to further strengthen the team's management. In May , Rohan Ramas, formerly of the New Orleans Pelicans , joined the Lakers to oversee the team's salary cap, data analytics, and strategy departments.

Pelinka previously revealed that the team plans to fill another assistant general manager position that will focus on the " player draft and evaluation process , " covering professional scouts, draft scouts, and player development.

Amsler worked for the Heat for 20 years, joining the team as an intern in the 2004-05 season and gradually rising through the ranks, participating in basketball operations such as scouting, player personnel, and the G League.
