Tottenham manager De Zerbi faces goal drought and firmly believes his attacking philosophy will eventually pay off.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi attended the pre-match press conference ahead of their crucial Carabao Cup match against Liverpool.

Facing criticism about the team's winless start and goal drought in attack, De Zerbi acknowledged the current predicament but firmly stated that he would never waver in his attacking football philosophy.

De Zerbi first frankly accepted the pressure of the team's failure to meet expectations, directly addressing external criticism of the team's poor attack: "The team has not won a single game so far and has not scored a single goal, so it's normal for everyone to feel disappointed. If the team doesn't score, it can be said that it's entirely the coach's responsibility, and I accept that with equanimity."

"Our team only had about ten days of training together, but we played well in the first half of the game and were even fully capable of scoring two goals. Failing to score may have caused the players to lose some confidence, but I have 100% faith in my players; they are excellent."

Facing the anxiety of failing to score in the league, De Zerbi emphasized that the problem was not a lack of ability, but rather a lack of decisiveness and attention to detail in front of goal. He firmly believes that scoring is only a matter of time, and specifically analyzed the new roles and adaptation periods of several attackers.

De Zerbi said: "Savio and Malmush were not absolute core players at Manchester City before, but they have greater responsibilities here and need to adapt to this role change as soon as possible. Solanke also has a very strong goal-scoring ability, and he now needs to adjust his physical condition and maintain a positive mindset."

“Players like Gallagher, Fernandez, and Maddison are all capable of playing the number 10 position, but we need to learn to be bolder in pushing forward into the penalty area and attacking space when crossing from the wings.”

Finally, De Zerbi reiterated that the team had not faced much real threat in defense, and that the current period of growing pains would not shake his tactical philosophy: "My football philosophy has always been attack and goals, and this team-building concept will never change."
