Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe fined and sentenced to community service for domestic abuse against his ex-partner..

The Athletic, citing information from the Croydon Magistrates' Court on Thursday and reported that former Liverpool Engllish winger Jordon Ibe has been fined and sentenced to community service for domestic abuse against his ex-partner.

According to the report, the incident occurred in December 2025 during an argument with his former partner, Ibe was accused of violently pulling her hair and even ripping out a section of her braids.

The London Metropolitan Police launched an investigation following the report, arresting Ibe at Luton Airport in January and formally charging him in February.

Ibe eventually changed his plea to guilty in July. Despite the guilty plea, police proceeded with charges under related laws regarding violent offenses and summoned him to court for sentencing.

In court, the victim, Amie Mayson, stated that the incident took place in Lambeth, South London. The pair had been engaged in a heated argument over a financial dispute.

During the altercation, she had asked Ibe to repay money she had lent him, but he refused.

When an angry Mason called Ibe a "druggy," he lost his temper and violently pulled her hair, ripping out a section of her braids.

In his defense, Ibe admitted in court: "I made a very serious mistake, and I deeply regret my actions."

The case concluded with sentencing at the Croydon Magistrates' Court on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Ultimately, the judge ruled that while Ibe would not face imprisonment, he was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was ordered to complete a 12-month community order, including 80 hours of unpaid work and a 27-day rehabilitation activity requirement. He was also fined £764.

About Jordon Ibe

The 30-year-old Ibe was born on December 8, 1995, in Bermondsey, England. He is 1.76 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger, but can also play as a left winger. He holds dual British and Nigerian citizenship.

Ibe joined the Charlton Athletic youth academy at the age of eight. After being released in 2007, he joined the Wycombe Wanderers youth academy. In August 2011, at the age of 15 years and 244 days, he completed his Wycombe Wanderers by coming on as a substitute in an English League Cup match.

4 months later, Ibe joined Liverpool for a fee of £1 million.

Ibe garnered widespread attention after starting in the final match of the 2012/13 Premier League season and providing an assist for Philippe Coutinho. Later, following Raheem Sterling's transfer to Manchester City, Ibe was dubbed the "New Sterling", a label that placed immense pressure on him.

The following February, Ibe was loaned-out to Birmingham City, where he helped the club avoid relegation. In August 2014, he went out on loan again, this time to Derby County.

In February of the following year, with Liverpool facing an injury crisis, Ibe was urgently recalled to the squad; he quickly established himself in the Reds' first-team with impressive performances.

In July 2016, Ibe joined Bournemouth for £15 million.

However, after joining the Cherries, Ibe was plagued by leg injuries and his inconsistent form eventually led to him falling out of favour.

After being released in the summer of 2020, Ibe returned to Derby County as a free agent.

Cruelly, however, he was once again troubled by leg injuries that September and unfortunately suffered from depression, plunging him into a prolonged period of psychological struggle.

In January 2022, Ibe joined Adanaspor, but he was ultimately forced to leave after six months as he continued to battle mental health struggles.

Following that, Ibe underwent a year and a half of psychological treatment before joining the non-league club Ebbsfleet United in October 2023.

From the following year through the first half of 2025, Ibe played for several other English non-league clubs.

In November 2025, Ibe joined Lokomotiv Sofia on a free transfer; however, he was released this summer after failing to impress.

Last season, he made just nine appearances across all competitions for the Bulgarian First League club and recorded one assist.
