Cooper Flagg hopes to further improve his abilities in the new season.

Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg said in an interview that his form and confidence have improved during the offseason, and he hopes to carry that confidence into the new season.

The 19-year-old Cooper Flagg impressed the Dallas Mavericks, who drafted him with the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, and he subsequently signed with the team.

In the 2025/26 NBA regular season, Cooper Flagg played 70 games for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 21.0 points per game with a 46.8% field goal percentage and a 29.5% three-point percentage. Notably, Flagg's outstanding performance earned him a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Team.

Cooper Flagg stated, "My rookie season is over, so from now on, I'm going to focus on improving myself throughout my career. I just want to get better every day, and that's what I've been working on during the offseason."

"I think it's been a great offseason, for me and for a lot of people on the team. There have been a lot of people coming to the training facility all summer, so it's been a great offseason."

Reflecting on last season's performance, Cooper Flagg said, "I feel like I wasn't decisive enough a lot of the year. I didn't have enough confidence in some shots that I should have taken with confidence. Now I have a lot of confidence in all aspects of myself, whether it's ball handling, shooting, or finishing ability."

"Bringing the confidence I built up in the summer into the new season and maintaining that confidence and proactive mindset in games will help me achieve excellent results at the start of the season."

When discussing Kyrie Irving, Cooper Flagg said, "Kyrie Irving is the kind of player I feel very comfortable playing with. He's one of the greatest players in this sport and has incredible talent. But I think his personality makes it easy to adapt to playing with him."

In addition, Cooper Flagg said, "We need to rebuild a winning culture, but more importantly, a culture of giving our all every day. Every time we step onto the field, we must do our best to win."
