AC Milan striker Leão has officially joined Galatasaray on a four-year contract.

Galatasaray has announced the signing of Portuguese striker Rafael Leão. The two sides have signed a four-year contract, valid until June 30, 2030.

Leão transferred from AC Milan, where his contract was originally set to expire in June 2028. The transfer was ultimately completed for a fixed fee of €38 million, with an additional 20% resale value clause.

Regarding Leão's personal terms, the club confirmed that his annual salary after tax is €10 million. The official announcement also confirmed that he will wear the number 27 jersey for Galatasaray after joining the club.

Regarding Leão's arrival, Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz commented: "We have put in a lot of effort to bring Leão in since June. Now that he has officially become a member of Galatasaray, he will definitely strengthen the team."

The 27-year-old Leão came through the youth academy of Sporting Lisbon and made his professional debut for the first team in the Portuguese league on February 11, 2018. He then briefly joined French Ligue 1 side Lille before transferring to AC Milan in August 2019 for €49.5 million.

During his time in Italy, Leão gradually developed into an important member of AC Milan's attack. To date, he has made 291 appearances for AC Milan, scoring 80 goals and providing 65 assists, winning one Serie A title and one Italian Super Cup with the team.

After completing the signing, Leo said through official channels: "I am very excited and happy. Galatasaray has been working hard to bring me here since June, and I am very grateful for their continued attention to me."
