Whitmore was the 20th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, entering the NBA after playing one season at Villanova University . He spent his first two seasons with the Houston Rockets before being traded to the Washington Wizards last offseason.
Last season, Whitmore played only 21 games for the Wizards before being sidelined for the rest of the season due to a blood clot in his right shoulder. To date, he has played 119 NBA games , averaging 10.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, with a field goal percentage of 45.0% and a three-point percentage of 34.9% .
