English League Cup – Floyd Samba scores twice as Manchester City thrashes Norwich 5-0

The final match of the third round of the 2026/27 English League Cup saw Manchester City, playing at home at the Etihad Stadium, defeat Norwich City, a Championship side, 5-0, thanks to goals from Floyd Samba, Rajan Scherki, Allan Elias, and Ryan McAdoo.

Two minutes into the match, Manchester City launched an attack, with Rajan Scherki receiving a pass from Nico Aureli and shooting, but his effort was blocked. In the 9th minute, Rico Lewis gained possession and entered the penalty area, but his shot went over the post.

In the 14th minute, Floyd Samba went down in the penalty area while attempting a breakthrough, but the referee did not award a penalty. In the 22nd minute, Ait Nouri played a through ball, and Floyd Samba tried to receive the ball, but his shooting opportunity was saved by an opposing player.
