The 2026/27 Premier League season will enter its fifth round of competition, with Chelsea traveling to face Brentford. Manager Xabi Alonso stated in a press conference that Brentford possesses a very complete squad, therefore reminding his team not to underestimate them.

Chelsea secured a 2-2 draw against newly promoted Hull City in their last league match, thanks to goals from Morgan Rodgers and João Pedro. After four rounds with two wins, one draw, and one loss, Chelsea currently sit 6th in the table with 7 points, one point ahead of 7th-placed Brentford.
