Finley Herrick admitted that he still has some areas to improve.

Finley Herrick made his first start for West Ham United at the London Stadium in their 2-3 home defeat to Fulham in the third round of the English League Cup. After the match, he stated that West Ham displayed a tenacious fighting spirit against Fulham, a team from the Premier League, and that such a performance should have at least forced the game into a penalty shootout.  

The young goalkeeper did not shy away from his responsibility for conceding the goal, believing he had room to maneuver in the face of Fulham's crucial second-half goal. He stated, "Of course, we are very upset and disappointed that we couldn't win the game. But looking at the overall match, the whole team maintained a high level of commitment and fought for the result until the very end. Considering the scoring opportunities we created, I think the team should have at least been able to hold on until penalties, and it's entirely possible that we could have finished the game in regulation time."  

"Both of our goals were beautiful, and the whole team gave their all. No one can question our attitude. I'm sure everyone is tired and even sore after such a high-intensity match. But this game also showed us our strength and proved that we are fully capable of competing with Premier League teams."  

“I need to carefully review the third goal I conceded and analyze where I can improve. I feel that at that moment, I could have provided more help to the team and should have set higher standards for my own performance. Although the result of this match is very disappointing, we will soon face Millwall in a crucial match, and I am already looking forward to it. Finley Herrick admitted that he still has some areas that need improvement. However, he believes that as he gains more experience and spends more time training with his teammates, his overall performance will improve. He added, "I know there are still some areas I need to improve, but I believe that as I gain more experience and spend more time training with my teammates, my performance will definitely get better and better."  

In this highly anticipated match, Finley Herrick not only received encouragement from the coaching staff and teammates, but his family also came to the stands at London Stadium to cheer him on for his first home start. Finley Herrick said: "This is a very important moment for me, and for my family as well. I have spent 14 years at this club, and to be able to have an experience like this today is a dream I have been looking forward to for a long time."
