Sarr and Walter Madd have joined Juventus on loan for one year.

Juventus announced on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the loan signing of Papua Matar Sarr. Sarr will play for Juventus until the end of the 2026/27 season, during which time he will wear the number 29 jersey.

According to Juventus' official statement, Sarr's loan fee is €2.8 million. The two clubs also included a €27.5 million buy-out clause in the deal, which will become mandatory if the player achieves certain targets.

Sarr was born on September 14, 2002, in Thiago Roye, Senegal. He began systematic training at the well-known Generations Football Academy in Senegal at the age of 13. He left his homeland for Metz in September 2020 and officially joined Tottenham Hotspur in June 2022.

To date, Sarr has made 141 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists, and won the 2024/25 Europa League title with the team. However, his tactical importance at Tottenham has gradually declined since last season.

Sarr is also one of Senegal's most promising young midfielders in recent years. He has made 42 appearances for Senegal to date and won the Africa Cup of Nations with the team in 2022.

Nick Walter Mad

Juventus' other signing is Nick Waltmard from Germany. Waltmard also joined on a season-long loan from Newcastle United, but the contract does not include a buy option.

According to Juventus' official documents, the loan fee for Walter Madd is €3.6 million. Juventus will also need to pay up to €500,000 in performance-related bonuses under certain conditions.

The 24-year-old Walter Madd came through the Werder Bremen youth academy and made his Bundesliga first-team debut on February 1, 2020. He then played for Everton and Stuttgart before transferring to Newcastle United in August 2025 for €75 million.

To date, Walter Madd has made 53 appearances for Newcastle United, scoring 11 goals and providing 6 assists. He is also a member of the German national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, playing approximately 32 minutes in the round of 32.

For Juventus, Walter Madd's arrival will fill the void left by Jonathan David's move to Atletico Madrid. The official announcement also confirmed that he will wear the number 27 jersey during his loan spell.
