Coventry City have officially announced the signing of Brentford centre-back Pinnock, with a transfer fee of up to £6 million.

Coventry City announced on Wednesday the formal signing of Brentford centre-back Ethan Pinnock. According to TA chief reporter David Ornstein, the two sides signed a "3+1" contract.

Ornstein also understands that Pinnock's transfer fee is £5 million plus £1 million in add-ons. His contract with Brentford was set to expire next summer, and he had previously been a potential transfer target for West Ham United.

Pinnock, 33, was born in London, England, and began his professional career with amateur league powerhouse Dulwich. He then played for Holmesdale, Forest Green Rangers, and Barnsley before transferring to Brentford for £3 million in July 2019.

To date, Pinnock has made 216 appearances for Brentford, scoring 12 goals and providing 7 assists. However, last season he only made 8 appearances for the Bees, accumulating 651 minutes.

At the national team level, Pinnock has chosen to remain loyal to his father's home country, Jamaica. He has made 28 appearances for Jamaica to date and has represented the team in the 2024 Copa America and the 2025 Gold Cup.

Following the completion of the transfer, Pinnock stated through official channels: "I am thrilled to join Coventry City and continue my football career at this great club."

According to the official statement, Pinnock will wear the number 2 jersey at Coventry City.
