Official: Atalanta have extended the contract of 22-year-old center-back George Scalvini.

Atalanta FC has released an official statement confirming the contract extension with 22-year-old Italian center-back Giorgio Scalvini. The new contract is expected to extend the original expiration date of 2028 by three years, until June 30, 2031.

Scalvini was born in Chiari, Brescia province in 2003 and officially joined Atalanta's youth team at the age of 11. Since making his professional debut on October 24, 2021, he has made 144 appearances for Atalanta, scoring 8 goals and providing 6 assists, and winning one Europa League title with the team.

At the national team level, Scalvini has made 10 appearances for Italy. It's worth noting that he is currently playing for the Azzurri in the UEFA Nations League.

After finalizing the contract extension, Scalvini said: "I am very happy and grateful to the club, Percassi, and the Pagliuca family. I have an extremely close relationship with Luca Percassi, who has witnessed my growth. I am also very grateful to the new director Cristiano Giuntoli, who played a key role in this contract extension."
