Robertson, returning to Anfield as a Tottenham player, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from Liverpool fans.

In an interview, Premier League star Andy Robertson shared how it felt to be a Tottenham Hotspur player back at Anfield and how heartwarming the warm welcome from Liverpool fans was.

Scottish defender Robertson previously played for Liverpool for nine years, during which time he won two Premier League titles, one Champions League title, two League Cup titles, one FA Cup title, and one UEFA Super Cup title, among other major trophies.

Recalling his move to Tottenham Hotspur, Robertson said, "From January onwards, I always knew I would eventually go to Tottenham Hotspur, provided they could stay in the Premier League. I became so engrossed in Tottenham Hotspur's games that I couldn't help but cheer them on when I watched them play."

“Especially after De Zerbi took over the team, I was completely confident in my decision, and I was really happy to see how much Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign me.”

In the third round of the English League Cup, Tottenham Hotspur were eliminated 1-3 by Liverpool, managed by Andoni Iraola, at Anfield after Gallagher scored a goal.

When asked about the feeling of returning to Anfield as an opponent, Robertson said, "Yes, it feels really strange. When the schedule was first released, I naturally went to look at the games and saw that it was an away game against Liverpool."

"That match was scheduled for December, which I thought was pretty good; I could settle in at Tottenham Hotspur first. But then, after the cup match, when we beat Charlton at home, everyone in the dressing room was yelling at me, 'You're going back!'"

Robertson continued, "Although I was a little taken aback at the time, it was really great, especially the warm welcome I received from the Liverpool home fans."

“I spent a long time there, and now I’m back there wearing another team’s jersey, and I still get this kind of welcome. It feels really warm.”
