Mbappe believes everything will go very smoothly under new coach Zidane.

With the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League season about to kick off its first group stage match, national teams have already begun training. French star Kylian Mbappé stated that he believes everything will move in a positive direction for the French national team under new coach Zinedine Zidane.

After Deschamps stepped down as head coach, football legend Zinedine Zidane was officially appointed as the new head coach of the French national football team in July.

Born in France, Zinedine Zidane previously managed Real Madrid, leading them to two La Liga titles, three Champions League titles, and two UEFA Super Cup titles. Notably, this will be Zidane's first time coaching a national team.

French striker Kylian Mbappé said in an interview, "A new era is beginning, and we have a new manager. Next is the UEFA Nations League, and we have four games. Let's see how it turns out."

“This will be a completely new experience for everyone, because we’ve always only been familiar with Deschamps. We will see some changes, but I think everything will go in a very good direction.”

Mbappe said, "When I was 13 or 14, Zidane took me to Real Madrid's training ground, which was a long time ago. And now, he's my national team coach. It's like something out of a movie, but it's all real, and it's happening at the highest level."

In addition, Mbappe said, "We have embarked on a new journey with the French national team. We have two years to prepare for the European Championship, and that is exactly what we are working on now."
