Rennes' Ghana international defender Alidu Seidu officially joins Nice on-loan..

Nice announced on their official website on Monday that Rennes' Ghana international defender Alidu Seidu has joined the club on-loan.

According to Nice's official statement, Seidu will play for the club on-loan until the end of the season and the agreement does not include an option to buy. He will wear the number 36 jersey.

After completing his transfer procuders, Seidu, who was interviewed by Nice's official website for the first time, said: "I didn't hesitate at all to join Les Aiglons. In fact, I had already been in contact with the club back in the summer."

"Although the move happened a bit later than originally planned, I am highly motivated now. I am eager to play and contribute to the team and the club on the pitch. I can't wait to get to work and give my all; I want us to have a fantastic season together and make the fans proud!"

About Alidu Seidu

The 26-year-old Seidu was born on June 4, 2000, in Kumasi, Ghana. He is 1.73 meters tall and primarily plays as a center-back but can also play as a left-back or right-back.

As a youngster, Seidu trained at the football academy established in Ghana by former French player Jean-Marc Guillou. After graduating, he joined Clermont in 2019 and completed his Clermont first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in September of the following year.

In January 2024, Seidu moved to Rennes for a fee of €6.5 million.

Since joining Les Rouge et Noirs,  Seidu has so far made 50 appearances across all competitions for the Ligue 1 powerhouse, scoring one assist and helping the team reach the Coupe de France semi-finals once.
