Liverpool announced on their official website on Sunday that the club has signed Saint-Étienne's France U20s international winger wonderkid Djylian N'guessan.

According to Liverpool's official statement, N'guessan has signed on a long-term six-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2032. He will initially play on-loan at at Brest and will officially join the Reds' squad after the summer transfer window opens in 2027.

Additionally, reports from the Liverpool ECHO indicate that Liverpool will pay a transfer fee of £7.5 million to Saint-Étienne to sign the player.

The Premier League giants had actually completed N'guessan's medical and contract signing on the summer transfer window deadline day; however, the deal was delayed because the club had already used up all of its international loan players quota at the time.

About Djylian N'guessan

N'guessan, who is only still 18 years-old, was born on August 30, 2008, in Saint-Nazaire, France, He is 1.80 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger but can also play as a left winger or as a center-forward. He holds dual French and Ivorian citizenship. His father, Davy, is also a former professional footballer who played as a center-forward for several English clubs.

N'guessan joined Saint-Étienne's youth academy at the age of seven. He began playing for the reserve team in 2024 and completed his Saint-Étienne first-team debut by coming on as a substitute the following January.

His impressive performances soon attracted the attention of scouts from several top Ligue 1 clubs.

Last season, N'guessan made 13 appearances across all competitions for the Ligue 2 club and scored one goal.
