Kyle Lowry was awarded the City Keys No. 7 jersey, which will soon be retired.

Toronto Raptors legend Kyle Lowry was recently awarded the "Key to the City" by Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the city and the team.

Previously, Lowry had signed a symbolic one-day contract with the Raptors, officially retiring as a Toronto player. As one of the most iconic figures in Raptors history, Lowry dedicated his most glorious nine seasons of his 20-year NBA career to Toronto.

Lowry not only formed a renowned backcourt duo with DeRozan, but also led the team to their first NBA championship in 2019 alongside Leonard. During his time with the Raptors, Lowry averaged 17.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game, was selected to the All-Star team for six consecutive years, and was named to the All-NBA Third Team in the 2015-16 season.

Currently, Lowry still holds the top spot on the franchise's all-time assists list (4277), three-pointers made list (1518), and steals list (873), while his games played and total points also rank second in franchise history.

Standing at 1.83 meters tall, Lowry is beloved by local fans for his tough and tenacious playing style. His signature moves on the court, such as drawing fouls and diving for loose balls, have become his trademarks. In her address, Mayor Olivia Chow praised Lowry for his dedication to Toronto, saying he represents the city's spirit of resilience and leadership, and called him "the best player in Raptors history."

It is reported that the Raptors will hold a grand ceremony on January 10, 2027, at their home arena, Scotiabank Arena, to officially hang Lowry's No. 7 jersey from the arena's dome.
