Control and healing were no longer keeping up with the fast pace of team fights. Players preferred roaming heroes with comprehensive skills, strong area-of-effect buffs, excellent protection abilities, and no lack of offensive power. They could form a pair to ambush from bushes. Shared attributes lead to monotonous gameplay, making them too reliant on specific teammates—truly parasitic and unable to stand alone. Their functionality is limited: refreshing skills, generating shields, charging through walls, increasing damage—but once the marksman dies, they are helpless and left to die.

While utility heroes have faded from view, mages can unleash devastating attacks without a word. The new version of supports is increasingly mobile, and their occasional removal of negative effects can lead to unexpected results.
