Pelicans' all-time top five rebounders: Davis first, West close behind.

Since its inception in the 2002-03 season, the New Orleans Pelicans have left a deep mark on franchise history with their formidable rebounding ability. Below are the top five players in Pelicans franchise history for total rebounds:

1. Anthony Davis ( 4905 rebounds )

Anthony Davis played seven seasons in New Orleans, earning six consecutive All-Star selections and averaging 10.5 rebounds per game for the Pelicans. He also holds franchise records for 26 rebounds in a single game and 712 defensive rebounds in a single season.

2. David West ( 3853 rebounds )

West played eight seasons in New Orleans , appearing in 530 regular season games between 2003 and 2011 , also a franchise record, and accumulating 3,853 rebounds. He averaged 8.2 or more rebounds per game in three seasons.

3. PJ Brown ( 2675 rebounds)

During his six seasons with the Pelicans, PJ Brown was a three-time All-Defensive Second Team selection for his frontcourt, and at his peak, he averaged 7.5 to 9.8 rebounds per game for several consecutive seasons.

4. Jonas Valanciunas ( 2368 rebounds )

Valanciunas played three seasons in New Orleans . He was the fifth overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft. In his 14 -season career, he played more than 1,000 games, averaging 12.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

5. Tyson Chandler ( 2225 rebounds)

During the 2006-07 season, Tyson Chandler averaged 12.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game, leading the league in offensive rebounding and finishing ninth in the Defensive Player of the Year voting that year.
