◤UEFA Europa League◢ Yeremy Pino scores as Crystal Palace cruised to a 4-0 win over 10-man Lech Poznań..

Crystal Palace cruised to a 4-0 win over 10-man Lech Poznań in their 2026/27 UEFA Europa League League Stage opening match at Selhurst Park on Thursday.

In the first half, Pino scored after winning the ball, Ishak hit the crossbar with a half-volley, Richards found the net with a header, and Strand Larsen converted a penalty. In the second half, Yegbe inadvertently scored an own goal, though he was spared as a Palace player was flagged for offside earlier in the move. Later, Murawski was sent off for a malicious foul, and Nketiah fired home. Ultimately, Crystal Palace secured a comprehensive 4-0 win. Following this round of matches, the Eagles temporarily sit second in the table with 3 points, while Lech Poznań are 35th with 0 points.

First Half

In the 3rd minute, Patrik Wålemark played a horizontal pass from the byline at the right side of the box. Mikael Ishak quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his left foot from a very close distance in the box, but his shot went wide of the bottom left corner of the post.

7 minutes later, Crystal Palace launched a deadly counter-attack. Terry Yegbe made a disastrous error while taking a throw-in. After successfully beating the offside trap, Yeremy Pino quickly followed up, intercepted the ball and dribbled into the center of the box before volleying the ball  into the bottom left corner of the net wit his right foot past the outrushing Mateusz Lis. Palace broke the deadlock early to take a 1-0 lead!

In the 22nd minute, Radosław Murawski played an overhead pass from the midfield center circle. After successfully beating the offside trap, Ishak quickly followed up, and upon receiving pass, half-volleyed the ball with his right foot from the center of the box, but his shot unfortunately struck the crossbar and bounced off. Lech Poznań missed a golden opportunity to equalize! 

5 minutes later, Crystal Palace earned a deadly corner kick opportunity. Adam Wharton took the corner by crossing into the box, where Omar Richards rose high and scored with a header, extending Crystal Palace's lead to 2–0!

In the 34th minute, Pino dribbled into the left side of the box and was brought down by Murawski. The referee immediately blew his whislte and awarded Crystal Palace a penalty, as well as booking Murawski with a yellow card. Jørgen Strand Larsen stepped up and converted the spot-kick with his right foot, stretching the lead to 3–0!

3 minutes later, Telly Yegbe inadvertently scored an own goal from 35 yards out while attempting a clearance; fortunately, the goal was disallowed because Strand Larsen had been offside.

At halftime, Crystal Palace already held a commanding 3–0 lead over Lech Poznań.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 66th minute, Dwight McNeil played a cut-back from the left side of the box. Pino quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his right foot from the center of the box, but his shot was blocked by Michał Gurgul.

10 minutes later, Pino made a straight pass from the right wing. Eddie Nketiah quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his right foot from the right side of the box, but his shot went just slightly wide of the bottom left corner of the post.

In the 87th minute, Jaydee Canvot was brought down by a cynical challenge from Radosław Murawski while attacking down the right wing. The referee immediately showed Murawski a red card, forcing Lech Poznań to finish the match with ten men! 

2 minutes later, McNeil made a straight pass from the right wing. Nketiah quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled and cuts into the right side of the box before volleying the ball into the bottom left corner of the net with his left foot, sealing a 4-0 victory for Crystal Palace!

When the final whistle is blownm Crystal Palace cruised to a 4-0 win over 10-man Lech Poznań, marking a historic first-ever Europa League victory for the club.
