Hull City completes contract extension with its vice-captain Charlie Hughes..


Hull City announced on their official website on Tuesday that the club has agreed to a contract extension with their vice-captain, English defender Charlie Hughes.


According to Hull City's official statement, Hughes has signed on a new three-year deal which runs until the summer of 2029, with an option to extend for a further year.


About Charlie Hughes


Charlie Hughes, who is only still 22 years old, was born on October 16, 2003, in Golborne, England. He is 1.85 meters tall and plays as a center-back.


Hughes spent his early career in the youth academies of Manchester City and Liverpool before joining Wigan Athletic's youth academy in 2017. He completed his Wigan first-team debut in in January 2022 during an EFL Trophy match against Arsenal U21s.


During his two-year spell at Wigan, Hughes was named the EFL League One Young Player of the Season for the 2023/24 campaign.


In August 2024, Hughes joined Hull City in a deal worth £4 million.


Since joining the Tigers, Hughes has so far made 70 appearances across all competitions for the newly promoted Premier League club, scoring 2 goals, providing 2 assists, and was part of the squad that won the EFL Championship promotion play-offs final.
