The Nuggets waived Julian Reese's two-way contract, opening up a roster spot.

August 30th - According to NBA.com, the Denver Nuggets have officially waived forward/center Julian Reese .

Reese played for the University of Maryland for four years and went undrafted in the 2025 NBA draft. He spent most of the 2025-26 season with the Toronto Raptors 905 in the G League before signing a two-year two-way contract with the Wizards in late February of this year .

Towards the end of last season, Reese received ample playing time with the Wizards. He played 13 games, starting 10 of them , averaging 30.9 minutes per game, contributing 11.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals, showcasing solid rebounding and interior presence.

In addition, Reese played 41 G League games for the Raptors 905 and Capital City Go-Go last season , averaging 8.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.

With Reece's departure, the Nuggets currently have one open two-way contract roster spot, with the other two spots going to KJ Simpson and 2026 second-round pick Bryce Hopkins , respectively .
