August 29th - According to HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto , the Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement with this year's second-round draft pick, Bryce Hopkins . The two sides will sign him to a two-way contract.
Hopkins has a relatively extensive college experience, having played five seasons in the NCAA . He initially played for the University of Kentucky, then spent three seasons at Providence College, before finally transferring to St. John's University. However, he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament after playing only three games at the start of the 2024-25 season , effectively ending his season.
After returning from injury, Hopkins averaged 28.8 minutes per game, scoring 13.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals , and was selected to the Big East All-Conference Second Team.
According to the current schedule, Hopkins will likely play primarily for the Nuggets' G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Goldens, in the new season, allowing him to further improve his physical condition and game ability through more playing time.
