Rodri, making his Barcelona debut: Finding his rhythm is very important

Spanish star Rodri made his Barcelona debut as a substitute in a rescheduled match of the first round of the 2026/27 La Liga season. Rodri expressed his happiness for the team's victory, while also emphasizing that finding his rhythm and integrating into the team are the most important things at this stage.

Rodri previously played for Premier League giants Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles, one Champions League title, two FA Cup titles, three League Cup titles, and the Ballon d'Or in 2024 during his seven-year career with the "Citizens".

It's worth mentioning that Rodri and his teammates helped Spain win the World Cup in 2026.

In their match against Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona secured a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Rafinha and Fermín, achieving their second consecutive win.

Rodri, making his first appearance for Barcelona at Camp Nou, said, "I'm very happy to have played my first game and I'm also happy for the team's victory, especially since we've won two games in a row. It's important for us to find our rhythm and adapt to this great team. I felt good when I first came on and felt very positive overall."

“I’ve only participated in very little training so far, so it’s very important to regain my rhythm through matches. I’m adapting to this super team little by little. Speaking about Yamar, who has yet to find his scoring touch this season, Rodri said, "Yama is an incredible player, but he's going through a period that might be frustrating for him. We're working to help him adjust his mindset, and we've seen the best of Yamar in matches, even though he hasn't scored yet."
