League of Legends: Shifters midlaner nuc to temporarily take a break after the Summer Split..

Swiss League of Legends e-sports club Shifters' mid-laner nuc, announced on Wednesday via his personal X (Twitter) account that he has decided to temporarily take a break from the competitve e-sports scene after the LEC Summer Split.

According to nuc's official statement, he had been waiting until the team was 100% eliminated from the playoffs before making this announcement.

He said he felt the team's performance was declining and his own career prospects were becoming increasingly stagnant, thus he had decided to temporarily take a break after the season ends to "be able to pursue other things that interest him."

In fact, nuc's intention to leave, given that his contract expires in November, had been foreshadowed.

Back in April, he had already stated that he saw no need to return to the Shifters roster and play alongside his teammates.

After joining the League of Legends EMEA Elite in 2021, the 23-year-old French-Moroccan mid-laner spent several seasons establishing himself, solidifying his position as a top player in 2023, and especially in 2024, while playing for Team BDS. However, the past two years have been exceptionally difficult for him.

Although his team in 2025 struggled to find its peak performance, he still excelled. However, the 2026 season proved to be a nightmare for the entire team.

After finishing tenth in the LEC Versus and ninth in the Spring Split, Shifters are currently at the bottom of the Summer Split standings, winless with seven losses.
