Villarreal have officially signed Nathan Saliba, signing him to a contract until 2031.

Villarreal have officially announced that they have reached an agreement with Anderlecht to formally sign Canadian midfielder Nathan Saliba. The two sides will sign a long-term contract, with Saliba playing for Villarreal until June 2031, representing the " Yellow Submarine" in all competitions for the next five seasons .  

Nathan Saliba is about to have his first training session since joining Villarreal, after which he will make his official debut with his new teammates. Following training, the Canadian midfielder will head to the press conference room at José Manuel Llanesa's training ground to meet with the media and officially begin his Villarreal career.  

Nathan Saliba was born on February 7, 2004, in Longueil, Canada. As a young midfielder, he possesses good technical ability and room for development. He can create attacking opportunities for the team with accurate passing, and also has a strong sense of forward movement, often participating in attacks from the midfield and defense, providing the team with more attacking options.  

In his club career, Nathan Saliba previously played for Belgian club Anderlecht, making 50 appearances and scoring 5 goals. Before moving to Europe, he represented his hometown club Montreal CF in Major League Soccer, making 78 appearances and scoring 1 goal.  

Despite being only 22 years old, Nathan Saliba has already accumulated considerable experience at the national team level. He has made 18 appearances for the Canadian senior national team, contributing 3 goals. Saliba also represented Canada in the recently concluded 2026 World Cup, showcasing good form. Now, having joined Villarreal, he will enter a new phase of his career and is expected to gradually develop into an important member of the team's midfield.
