Brighton reject Liverpool's second £60 million bid for winger Minter.

Brighton & Hove Albion have officially rejected a new £60 million bid from Liverpool for 22-year-old Gambian winger Yankuba Minteh.

This marks the second rejection Liverpool has received in a short period. Earlier this week, Liverpool made an initial offer of £50 million, which was quickly rejected by Brighton. This time, Liverpool increased their offer to £60 million, but Brighton remains firm in its stance.

It is understood that Brighton's asking price for the young winger is close to £70 million. Although negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, Brighton has not easily conceded on the transfer fee threshold.

Mint joined Brighton from Newcastle United in 2024 for £30 million, primarily playing as a right winger. To date, he has made 73 appearances for Brighton in all competitions, contributing 10 goals and 9 assists. His dribbling and attacking abilities on the wing have made him a sought-after transfer target.

Liverpool's new manager Andoni Iraola recently stated publicly that the team is severely lacking in the wing position and urgently needs to make targeted signings before the transfer window closes.

Liverpool are clearly short of wingers after key attacking players like Mohamed Salah left the club this summer. Although Liverpool are eager to complete the transfer, Brighton's tough asking price of nearly £70 million means the two sides will need to negotiate further in the final stages of the transfer window.
