The Suns have agreed to extend Haywood Highsmith's contract for one year.

August 19th - According to ESPN, the Phoenix Suns have re-signed forward Haywood Highsmith to a one-year contract.
In February of this year, the Suns signed the veteran with six years of NBA experience to a two-year veteran's minimum contract. Previously, Highsmith played for the Miami Heat and underwent surgery for a torn meniscus. The Heat subsequently traded him to the Brooklyn Nets. Two months later, the Nets announced that his recovery had encountered problems and he would need to remain sidelined.
Highsmith didn't make his Phoenix Suns debut until March 6th. Last season, he played 7 regular season games, totaling 91 minutes, with 5 games featuring double-digit playing time. On March 16th against the Celtics, he scored 16 points, setting a new career high for points with the Suns.
In addition, Highsmith played 10 minutes in the play-in game against the Warriors and about 10 minutes in two playoff games against the Thunder .
