CS2: Falcons declined to participate in PGL Masters Bucharest 2026, and The MongolZ replaced them with a direct invite.

Victories in every tournament, big or small, affect international rankings. Top-ranked teams almost always qualify directly for the top 16 without needing to go through the knockout stage. With S-level tournaments constantly taking place in the CS2 scene, players are almost always in a state of preparation, which really tests their individual resilience. The PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 is coming soon, scheduled for October 24th to 31st, followed by the Singapore Major on November 2nd.

Based on the VRS rankings, the official participant list was quickly announced. One top team, Falcons, will be absent; the reason for their refusal is unknown. However, their spot will be taken by The MongolZ, ranked 13th, who will receive a direct invite. Don't be disappointed, though, as the list also includes several other top-tier teams such as SPIRIT, Vitality, NaVi, and FURIA.

In addition, BB and 9z, who reached the quarterfinals of IEM Cologne Major 2026, earned direct invites for their outstanding performance. Legacy, who won the PGL runner-up title last year, is not to be outdone. After adjusting their roster and replacing saadzin, their performance has improved dramatically. On the surface, these are all strong teams, but they have put in a lot of effort behind the scenes to get to where they are now, making the tournament highly entertaining and featuring a star-studded lineup. The prize money for the tournament is $1.25 million. With 12 spots secured, the remaining 4 teams will have to wait for the qualifiers in September, held in four regions: Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. It will be a Swiss-system group stage. Who will emerge victorious? We'll have to wait and see.
