Ipswich Town has officially announced the signing of Abdul Ouattara to a four-year contract.

Ipswich Town have officially announced the signing of Abdel Ouattara. The young Ivorian player has joined from Strasbourg in Ligue 1 and signed a long-term contract until 2031. The transfer fee has not been disclosed.  

The 20-year-old Abdel Ouattara possesses excellent positional adaptability, capable of playing on both sides of the defense as well as in midfield. Last season, he gradually became an important member of Strasbourg's squad, helping the team reach the UEFA Europa League semi-finals under Gary O'Neill's management. He made 10 appearances in the competition, contributing 2 goals.  

Speaking about the signing, Ipswich Town coach Gary O'Neill gave it a positive review, saying, "Abdul Ouattara is a very promising young player, and one of his strengths is his ability to adapt to different positions. The addition of such a player will undoubtedly give our squad more options."  

“We got to know Abdel Ottara very well during our time in France last season, and it was a very pleasant experience working with him. We are all very happy to be able to continue that partnership in Ipswich.”  

After completing the signing, Abdul Waallah said: "I am very excited to be a member of Ipswich Town. The Premier League is the top league in the world, and when I learned that I had the opportunity to come to England and play again under a manager I really enjoy working with, I decided to accept the opportunity with almost no hesitation."  

I'm still young, but I've already gained some great playing experience. Now I'm really looking forward to meeting the fans and teammates and starting a new chapter in Ipswich as soon as possible.  

Abdel Ouattara was born in Zucpombeu, Ivory Coast, and moved to France with his family at the age of 10. In 2018, he joined the Strasbourg youth academy and began playing for the club's B team at the age of 17, gradually gaining professional experience by competing against adult players in the lower leagues of France.  

In October 2024, Abdul Ouattara made his first-team debut in Strasbourg against Paris Saint-Germain. After his debut, he gradually gained more playing time and steadily improved his position in the team. By last season, Abdul Ouattara had become an important member of Gary O'Neill's team.  

With his adaptability and well-rounded skills, Abdul Ouattara played in several positions for Strasbourg last season. Now, he will reunite with Gary O'Neill and officially join forces in England, beginning a new phase of his career.
