Barcelona announced on their official website on Tuesday that they have signed Arsenal's Brazil international forward Gabriel Jesus.

According to Barcelona's official statemen, Jesus has signed on a three-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029. He will wear the number 9 jersey previously worn by legendary Poland international striker Robert Lewandowski.

Furthermore, according to reports from The Athletic, the La Liga defending champions paid a transfer fee of €10 million to sign Jesus, not including up to €4.5 million in performance-related bonuses.

About Gabriel Jesus

The 29-year-old Jesus was born on April 3, 1997, in São Paulo, Brazil. He is 1.75 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left or right winger.

Jesus joined Palmeiras' youth academy in 2013 and completed his first-team debut in a Campeonato Paulista match in March 2015.

During his two-and-a-half-year spell at Palmeiras, Jesus won one Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title and one Copa do Brasil with the club.

In January 2017, Jesus joined Manchester City for £27 million.

During his five-and-a-half-year spell with the Cityzens, Jesus won four Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups, two Community Shields, and one FA Cup, as well as reached one UEFA Champions League final with the club.

In July 2022, Jesus moved to Arsenal for £45 million.

During his four-year spell with the Gunners, Jesus made 123 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, scored 32 goals, provided 22 assists and helped the team win one Premier League title, as well as reaching the UEFA Champions League final, and the Carabao Cup final once each.
