The 2026/27 Premier League season is about to kick off, with Liverpool traveling to St. James' Park to challenge Newcastle United, managed by new manager Jaissler. Kelkes Milos has stated that he and his teammates are very much looking forward to the new season.
In their final friendly match, Liverpool defeated Como from Serie A 2-0 after goals from Gakopo and Jeremy Jacquet.
Liverpool defender Milos said: "We said before the game that we needed to win this game and go into next week with a positive mindset. So we did well and kept a clean sheet, which is a good thing for defenders, and we are happy about that. We still have some work to do in terms of defensive setup, especially needing more help from the wingers, but these issues will continue to be addressed next week."
"This is the first time I've played a full 90 minutes this summer. I could feel my legs getting tired around the 70-minute mark, but it's still great to be able to play the full 90 minutes. After last season ended, I had plenty of time to rest. To be honest, I rested for about two or three weeks before I started training again. I missed training, so it feels great to be back on the pitch full of energy."
Kelkez Milos pointed out, "Many players need to play the full 90 minutes, which is certainly very important. Because we need to prepare for the intensity of Premier League matches. Everyone knows what that will be like, especially away against Newcastle. So having many players play the full 90 minutes is definitely a good thing."
In addition to being managed by new manager Jaissler, Newcastle is also leading Liverpool in the Premier League for the first time.
Kelkez Milos shared, “I have more freedom now, I can keep pushing forward and dropping back. I run more, I have more freedom, and I will pass the ball into the box more often. When I was playing for Bournemouth, manager Andoni Iraola gave me a lot of confidence.”
“We all have to follow his instructions to play more aggressively and press forward, so we need to keep doing that. We’re playing more aggressively now and need to run more. It’s tough, but if you want to compete at the top, you have to do that, whether it’s in the Champions League or the Premier League.”
In addition, Kyrgyz Milos said, "We are more prepared now, and everyone is eagerly awaiting the start of the new season."
"For me, playing away against Newcastle, representing Bournemouth and playing for Liverpool are completely different experiences. I really can't wait, and I think my teammates feel the same way. The atmosphere there is fantastic, and we're definitely going to get all three points."
