G2 sniper SunPayus has officially left the team and is expected to join FUT next.

G2's CS2 division confirmed on Wednesday that it has parted ways with Álvaro García (ID: SunPayus) effective immediately. It is widely expected that he will join FUT, replacing Mikita Samorotov (ID: cmtry) as their sniper.

SunPayus later bid a heartfelt farewell to G2 via the X platform: "My time with G2 has come to an end."

“I am very grateful to everyone who has been with me along the way – my teammates, coaches, staff, and especially the fans who have always supported us through the highs and lows.”

"Thank you, G2. Until we meet again."

SunPayus, 27, is from Spain and has played for several top CS teams throughout his career, including Myrtia Wolves Blue, Tenerife Titans, einheit, KPI, Wygers, Caronte, Iberian Family, Movistar Riders, ENCE, Falcons, and HEROIC. His most notable achievement was winning the 2023 IEM Dallas championship with ENCE.

In July 2025, SunPayus replaced Ilya Osipov (ID: m0NESY) in G2's starting lineup after Osipov left the team. According to HLTV statistics, he played 215 maps and participated in 4657 rounds for G2, with an average personal rating of 1.05, and won the 2025 BLAST London Open with the team.

However, SunPayus has not played for G2 since June of this year. He has been on the bench for about three months, and his starting position has been taken over by Artem Moroz (ID: r1nkle) from NIP.

With SunPayus' official departure, his 14-month stint with G2 has come to an end. G2's current roster is as follows:

Commander: Nemanja Kovac (ID: huNter-)

Rifleman: Nikita Martinenko (ID: HeavyGod)

Rifleman: Matush Shimko (ID: MATYS)

Rifleman: Guy Iluz (ID: NertZ)

Sniper: Artem Moroz (ID: r1nkle)

Coach: Etu Saha (ID: sAw)
