Brazilian goalkeeper Neto has confirmed his return to Juventus and will wear the number 33 jersey.

Juventus announced on Monday the official signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Norberto Neto. Neto returned on a free transfer, with a contract running until June 30, 2027.

The official confirmation also revealed that Neto will wear the Juventus number 33 jersey. Further reports indicate that his after-tax annual salary at the Bianconeri is approximately €500,000.

The 37-year-old Neto came through the youth academy of Athletico Paranaense and made his professional debut for the first team in the Brazilian Serie A on August 16, 2009. He subsequently played for Fiorentina, Juventus, Valencia, Barcelona, Bournemouth, Arsenal, and other clubs, and has been playing for Botafogo since 2025.

During his two seasons with Juventus, Neto primarily served as Gianluigi Buffon's backup goalkeeper. He made 22 appearances for Juventus, keeping 13 clean sheets, and won two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia titles, and one Italian Super Cup with the team.

For Juventus, Neto's return is a timely boon. He will fill the void left by Camille Grabala's torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, and is expected to be pegged after Guillermo Vicario in the pecking order.

After completing the signing, Neto stated through official channels: "Returning to Juventus feels strangely familiar. I sincerely thank the club, the director, and the coach for giving me this opportunity. I am very happy. It seems somewhat unbelievable to be able to start over at Juventus. After all, I know everything I've been through before, and I understand the club and the surrounding environment. That's why I'm genuinely happy."
