Javier Aguirre is delighted to take charge of Valencia and is ready to embrace the challenge.

Valencia's new head coach, Javier Aguirre, made his official debut and gave his first interview to the media. Before the press conference began, his Mexican compatriot, former Valencia player Andrés Guardado, welcomed him via video. Sporting director Braulo Vázquez then spoke first, formally introducing Javier Aguirre.  

Sporting director Braulo Vázquez said: "Besides his extensive coaching experience, what impressed me most when we first contacted him was his strong desire to join Valencia. We hadn't even started discussing financial matters yet; from a sporting perspective, the only thing that needed to be confirmed was when he could fly here. He really showed a very firm determination to join. I also want to thank him and his coaching team for choosing to come to Valencia during a difficult time for the club."  

Javier Aguirre said: "It's hard to refuse a club like Valencia. It's a team with a deep history in La Liga and even in world football, and it has an incredible fan base. I've been here as the manager of an opposing team before, and Mestalla really puts a lot of pressure on away teams. I hope this place can become a stadium that opponents fear again, and I hope Valencia can return to where it belongs."  

“I had previously turned down four other job offers because I was enjoying time with my family. But when Valencia extended an invitation, I told my wife we had to come. She loves football even more than I do, so she was very excited when she heard the news. When I spoke with Braulo Vázquez, I felt incredibly lucky to be considered by Valencia as their head coach. For me, the mutual desire to work together was more important than any so-called ‘attached conditions’.”  

"I am very happy to receive such a warm welcome. The people here have been very welcoming, and I feel a very positive atmosphere. However, in the end, results will speak for themselves, and we hope to achieve our desired results as soon as possible."
