Kylian Mbappe suffered a knee injury during the match.

The French Football Federation has confirmed that Kylian Mbappé suffered a knee injury during France's 1-0 victory over Turkey and will leave the national team training camp early. In the opening match of the 2027 UEFA Nations League, France defeated Turkey 1-0 away thanks to a goal from Mbappé. However, the French captain was forced to leave the field due to injury before he could fully celebrate his goal.  

In the 54th minute, Kylian Mbappé scored with a right-footed shot, giving France the lead. However, he soon showed signs of discomfort after the shot, and his smile was quickly replaced by a look of pain. Mbappé then tried to return to the game, but ultimately could not continue, and France substituted him with Desiree Duët.  

Zinedine Zidane spoke first about Kylian Mbappé's injury after the match, saying, "Unfortunately, Kylian Mbappé's situation is not optimistic at the moment. He has knee pain, and we will not take any risks for him, so he will likely return to the club for further examination. We hope the injury is not as serious as we think, but at this stage, caution is undoubtedly more important."  

Minutes later, French national team officials officially confirmed Kylian Mbappé's injury. Mbappé injured his knee during the shot that sealed the winning goal, and examination revealed a tendon tear. He will return to Madrid for further treatment.
