Spanish online media outlet Relevo's resident renowned Italian transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, slammed rumours which claimed that "Bayern Munich planned to make a €70 million bid to sign Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo during the January winter transfer window"  on Thursday in his paid column.

In his column, Moreto slammed the claim as baseless nonsense. Bayern Munich has no plans to bring in an attacking midfielder during the winter transfer window, and Olmo has never expressed any desire to leave due to reduced playing time.

He said, it is unbelievable that such rumours can still be spread after a whole year, demonstrating the unscrupulousness of those who seek to exploit fans, especially those in the Chinese-speaking world, with the most direct and easily debunked lies.

Olmo has never been unhappy with the reduced playing time due to the arrival of Karim Adyemi. On the contrary, he is willing to patiently wait for opportunities to rotate with his teammates and use those limited opportunities to prove his value.

Moreover, it makes no sense for Barcelona to sell one of their key midfielders to a direct rival for the UEFA Champions League title battle during the January transfer window.

Moretto said bluntly that anyone who fabricates such absurd news, easily believes it, and widely shares it as true is utterly boring.

Upon investigation, this fake news was published on September 19th by the Spanish fake news platform Fichajes, and recently being shared rapidly across multiple social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, RedNote, YouTube, and Weibo, sparking heated discussions and ultimately forcing Moretto to reiterate the claim after a considerable period of silence.

About Dani Olmo

The 28-year-old Dani Olmo was Born on May 7, 1998, in Terrassa, Catalonia, Spain. He is 1.79 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play as a left winger or right winger.

Olmo previously played for Espanyol, Barcelona, and Dinamo Zagreb. In January 2020, he joined RB Leipzig for €20 million.

During his three-and-a-half-year spell at Leipzig, Olmo won the DFB-Pokal twice and the DFL-Super Cup once, making him one of the most outstanding attacking midfielders in Bundesliga and European football history.
