Lonzo Ball denies retirement rumors: I'm still waiting for the team to call.

Lonzo Ball made it clear on Wednesday that he currently has no plans to retire.

Recently, rumors about Lonzo Ball's impending retirement have been rampant. The rumor originated from Ball's remarks on the "Ball In the Family" podcast, which some media outlets interpreted as a signal of retirement: "I feel like I've given everything to basketball, and everything I have in my life is thanks to basketball. I'm grateful to have been able to enter the league and play for nine years."

"To be honest, I never felt like I reached the pinnacle of my career... However, I'm already satisfied with having the opportunity to play in the NBA, wear a jersey, and fulfill all my childhood dreams."

Faced with the escalating rumors, Ball immediately denied them on the X platform. He jokingly stated that he was still waiting for a signing opportunity: "I'm retired? How come I didn't know? I'm still waiting for a team to call... The NBA season is very long."

Lonzo Ball, 28, is a 6'6" (1.96m) and 86kg (4.5kg) point guard who entered the NBA as the second overall pick in 2017. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, and Cleveland Cavaliers in the league, and has been unemployed since being waived in February of this year.

Affected by injuries to his left knee, left ankle, and right wrist, Ball's career has fallen far short of expectations. To date, he has played 322 regular season games, averaging 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.5 steals in 30.1 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 39.2% and a three-point percentage of 35.5%.
