Aiming for more success, Yamal sets its sights on reaching the Champions League final against Barcelona.

Barcelona winger Yamar recently stated in an interview that he will continue to strive for self-improvement, whether it's scoring goals or other performances, and aims to participate in the Champions League final with the team.

After winning the World Cup with Spain this year, Yamar seemed to have yet to find his form at the start of the 2026/27 La Liga season. However, after adjustments, Yamar has already contributed 7 goals and 4 assists for Barcelona, and has also scored one goal and provided one assist in the Champions League.

In the 2025 Champions League semi-final, Barcelona were eliminated by Inter Milan 3-4 after goals from Eric Garcia, Olmo, and Rafinha. Last season, they were knocked out by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.

"We are a young team, and some decisions need to be made in an instant," said 19-year-old Yamal. "When players are 20, the decisions they make will be different from when they are 30."

“We are very lucky because many of our players grew up together in the youth academy, went through a lot together, and shared the same football philosophy. Even the oldest players, like Rafinha, are like brothers to us.”

Speaking about Barcelona's new signings, Yamal said, "They are all at the same high level, and most importantly, they have all adapted very well. We get along as if we have been playing together for four years. Whether it is Cancelo, Jesus, Adyemi, Gordon or Rodri, everyone gets along very well."

Regarding his personal statistics, Yamal stated, "If I completed 200 dribbles last season, then this season I will strive to do 300. If I scored 20 goals, then I will strive to score 30 goals."

"Now it's our turn to try and lift the Champions League trophy. We all want to go to Madrid and participate in the Champions League final."
