Harry Kane admits World Cup exit was a major blow and hopes to redeem himself in the UEFA Nations League.

In a recent interview, England captain Harry Kane opened up about England's painful experience of losing 1-2 to Argentina in the semi-final of the 2026 World Cup.

Kane characterized the loss as the most painful major tournament exit of his career, stating that the team completely lost its original style of play and tactics after taking the lead.

In an interview, Kane reflected on the turning point of that match: "It felt like we weren't a team at all. After we took the lead in the 55th minute, we could barely touch the ball."

"The pain of losing when you go against your beliefs is far greater than losing after giving your all in your own style. This elimination hurt more than any other time, even more than when I missed a penalty in Qatar."

With Saturday's UEFA Nations League match against newly crowned world champions Spain at Wembley, Kane stated that manager Tuchel has made the adjustments clear to the entire team: "Tuchel's message is very clear: we need to make tactical tweaks and continue to solidify the tactical foundation we've built. This isn't about starting from scratch, but rather a continuation of our previous good performances."

Kane emphasized that the team is focused on Saturday's tough match and is eager to step out of the shadows with a convincing performance and prove England's true strength to the world.
