Russell Martin: We showed a positive attitude from the start, and I think the team played great football.

Leicester City manager Russell Martin said his team showed the right attitude in their victory over Fulham U21. Bristrid completed his hat-trick in just 34 minutes, helping Leicester City quickly establish dominance at the King Power Stadium. Although Fulham U21 pulled one back later, Watson had already scored twice before Leicester City took a commanding 5-0 lead.  

In the second half, Decodova Reid scored Leicester City's sixth goal, temporarily resolving the team's recent lack of finishing in attack. Previously, in Saturday's match against Barnsley, Leicester City had squandered numerous chances and failed to score a decisive goal.  

Russell Martin said after the match: "We came out very positive from the start. I think the team played a lot of great football and scored a few beautiful goals. We kept putting pressure on the opponent, pressed aggressively, regained possession many times, and created a few good attacking opportunities in the process."  

“I was very annoyed by that goal, and I told the players that my job is to always demand more from them. We did relax a bit after taking a 5-0 lead until the end of the first half. It was a disappointing goal because Franco Lavezzoli shouldn’t have had to go through that.”  

"Overall, it was a very positive night, and we hoped to play like this from the start of the game. In general, I'm very happy with it because these kinds of games are sometimes not as easy as they seem. You have to take control of the game and let it unfold the way it will, and we did that."  

“We must maintain this form. We played the same way against MK Towns and Barnsley, dominating the games and deserving to win. The most important thing now is to continue this form. We are getting closer and closer to becoming a truly great team, and this is something that can be clearly felt within the club.”
