The French Football Federation announced on its official website on Tuesday that Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser has been forced to withdraw from the France national team due to injury, and Como goalkeeper Jean Butez has been called up as his replacement.

According to the French Football Federation's official statement, Risser was forced to withdraw because he suffered a rib injury in Lens' match against Monaco last weekend and was unable to join the team for training. He is expected to be out for two to three weeks.

Jean Butez will be making his first ever call-up to the France national team.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper, who has never been called up to the youth national team, is poised to break the record and become the oldest player to make his debut for the national team since the late left-back Gérard Farison, who was 32 at the time.

France will face Turkey away in the UEFA Nations League this Friday (September 25th), and then Belgium away a few days later (September 28th).

In early October, France will host Italy (October 2nd) and Belgium (October 5th) in the debut matches of legendary star and new manager Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane has called up several new faces for his first squad for the France national team.
