Successful coach De la Fuente extends his contract with the Spanish national team until 2032.

The Spanish Football Federation has officially finalized a contract extension for head coach Luis de la Fuente, extending the contract until 2032.

With the new contract taking effect, this decorated coach has entered a new working cycle. If he fully fulfills this long-term contract, he will set a new record for the second-longest consecutive tenure as head coach of the Spanish national team.

De la Fuente took over as coach of the Spanish national team on December 12, 2022. If he remains in his position until 2032, his coaching career will span a full 10 years.

At that time, De la Fuente will officially surpass the record of 7 years and 10 months previously held by legendary coach Vicente del Bosque, rising to second place on the list of longest tenures in the Spanish national team, second only to László Kubala, who coached for 10 years and 8 months.
