Counter Strike 2: FUT close to signing former G2 AWP-er SunPayus..

Dust2 exclusively reported on Sunday that emerging Turkish Counter Strike 2 (CS2) club FUT, is close to signing former G2 AWP-er SunPayus.

The report indicates that FUT is increasingly inclined to make roster changes to turn things around, driven by cmtry's inconsistent performance throughout 2026.

Before settling on SunPayus, FUT considered several other candidates, including 9INE's flayy, as well as INFINITE's sl3nd, who had even conducted trials.

If the transfer goes through, SunPayus is expected to make his FUT debut at the PGL Masters Bucharest in late October.

He would become the second player signed by FUT since their return to the professional Counter Strike 2 (CS2) scene.

In July, the team announced the signing of former HEROIC support player xfl0ud and moved rifler lauNX to the bench.

Meanwhile, SunPayus's arrival is expected to bring tactical flexibility to FUT's young roster, while his extensive experience allows him to serve as a secondary In-Game Leader.

The 27-year-old SunPayus has previously played for teams such as Tenerife Titans, Movistar Riders, ENCE, and Falcons. He was benched by G2 in June.

He was subsequently replaced by r1nkle. Over the past three months, SunPayus has maintained an average individual rating of 1.01.

cmtry, who is only still 18 years old, joined FUT in August 2025 after rising to prominence with the NAVI Academy.

Although he earned his first tournament MVP award at the PGL Bucharest in April with an average rating of 1.24, he failed to sustain that level of performance afterward. Over the course of the year, cmtry's average individual rating in LAN events stood at only 1.00.
