Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma praised new manager Maresca as trustworthy.

Following Manchester City's 1-0 away victory over Manchester United in their 199th Manchester derby, City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma praised new manager Enzo Maresca in an interview and recounted his experience making a last-minute save at Old Trafford.

Donnarumma spoke highly of his compatriot Maresca's coaching style and character. He stated that Maresca not only further enhanced the top-notch atmosphere at the training base but also demonstrated outstanding coaching ability and personal charisma.

“He trusts me immensely and appointed me as one of the captains, which makes me feel incredibly honored and proud,” Donnarumma said. “He pays great attention to detail and has created an excellent locker room environment that allows new signings to integrate quickly.”

Looking back at the previous Manchester derby, Manchester City struggled for over an hour with ten men after Phil Foden received an early red card. Donnarumma made a brilliant save in the 94th minute, blocking Mbemo's close-range shot to keep a clean sheet.

Donnarumma excitedly stated: "Playing with ten men for a long time at Old Trafford was very tough, but the whole team remained positive, maintained possession and pressure, and ultimately won the game.
