Paul George, looking forward to fighting alongside Jayson Tatum, believes he can coexist with him.

NBA star Paul George was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Boston Celtics in July, and he recently stated that he looks forward to playing alongside star player Jayson Tatum and believes they can coexist on the team.

In the 2025/26 NBA regular season, Paul George played 37 games for the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 17.3 points per game with a field goal percentage of 43.9% and a three-point percentage of 39.2%.

36-year-old NBA forward Paul George stated, "Our team has a superstar, Jayson Tatum. I'm not here to steal his thunder, nor to redefine who I am. I'm here to help Jayson Tatum; he's the core of the team, right?"

“I’ve played alongside another superstar-level forward before, and we had a fantastic partnership. So, I can imagine myself and Jayson Tatum doing the same. I can play around him, help him, and continue to be a mentor.”

In addition, Paul George's arrival was accompanied by Jaylen Brown being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Paul George said, "I understand how important Jaylen Brown is to this team and to this city. So I don't see this as a personal matter. Frankly, it's perfectly normal for them to have emotional reactions to this trade. But my job is to be here and seize this great opportunity."

“This is a completely new team and a completely new opportunity. Again, I don’t think they got someone to replace Jaylen Brown or fill the void he left. But personally, I feel I can come here to help the team stay competitive and give us a chance to win games.”
