Lewis Koumas believes he can deliver even more for Liverpool.

Liverpool striker Lewis Koumas, who will soon turn 21, said that working under new manager Andoni Iraola will be another opportunity to gain more playing experience, and he believes he can still bring more to the "Reds".

Lewis Koumas, a product of Liverpool's youth academy, has previously played on loan at Stoke City, Birmingham City and Hull City. After gaining some experience, he made his Premier League and Champions League debuts for Liverpool this season.

Reflecting on his experience participating in preseason training, Lewis Koumas shared, "I think it was towards the end of the U.S. preseason tour that I had a feeling I would be staying, and that felt really good. My biggest goal at the time was to try to impress head coach Andoni Iraola, which I think is what we all wanted to do."

“The past two weeks have been a bit crazy, with my Premier League and Champions League debuts, but I’m really happy and satisfied with how things are going. I know what it means to play for Liverpool, so every time I’m on the pitch, I give it my all.”

Lewis Koumas said, "I firmly believe that I can influence the game. I think the fans have only seen one way I influence the game so far, which is to cause trouble for the opponent by pressing and tackling. But I can bring a lot more to the game. I can lock down the game, I can run behind the defense, and I have speed. Now, I just want to show all of these abilities."

“I think I’m very different now compared to when I was. I’ve matured a lot and I understand more about what the game requires, and I think the past two years have been crucial to my growth. I feel that once you’re on the pitch for Liverpool, you can’t take the opportunity for granted. Because you’re playing with high-level players all around you, you don’t know if it will be your last chance.”

In addition, Liverpool will host Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield Stadium in the third round of the 2026/27 EFL Cup.

It's worth mentioning that Lewis Koumas won the English League Cup with Liverpool in the 2023/24 season.

Lewis Koumas said, "I put the medal in a frame and hung it on the wall. It was the first thing I did after I got the medal. To be honest, it was crazy to be there in that kind of competition, and it was a wonderful thing to finally get a medal."

"Many of our players were very young at the time, and it was really inspiring that they were able to perform like that. I think our goal this season is definitely to win the championship, so hopefully we can achieve that goal."
