Arteta firmly believes that the players are eager to win more games.

The third round of the 2026/27 English League Cup will take place, with Premier League giants Arsenal traveling to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town. Mikel Arteta stated that he firmly believes his players are eager to win more games and want to continue improving and getting better.

In the recent Premier League Round 4 match, Arsenal defeated Sunderland 2-0 with goals from Guimarães and Saka, and topped the standings with a four-game winning streak.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said in an interview, "When we look into the players' eyes, they tell you how much they want to play, how eager they are to win, and how much they want to continue to improve."

“They will look back at their previous performance against Sunderland, and they will be eager for more opportunities because I know these players very well.”

In their previous encounters, Arsenal have won their last two matches against Ipswich Town, keeping a clean sheet both times, giving them a significant psychological advantage.

Speaking about 16-year-old midfielder Max Dawman, Arteta said, "Max Dawman will get opportunities, he will get playing time, but like everyone else, he must earn those opportunities through his own performance."

“We know what kind of talent we have and we understand the players’ abilities. We need to help him, in the right way, to ensure that he can continue to grow and at the same time help the team.”
